How does verification work?

Every business is checked by three independent providers — Cobalt Intelligence, OpenSOSData, and Didit — each confirming your business registration separately. Businesses with a trade license on file also get a fourth, direct state licensing-board check via TradesAPI, where the trade is supported. There's no single pass/fail: your badge (Certified, Double Certified, or Triple Certified) reflects how many of the checks that actually ran came back confirmed.

Do I need to pass verification to use my account?

No. Verification is a trust badge shown on your public profile, not an access gate. Your dashboard unlocks as soon as your subscription is active, and you're immediately searchable and listed — regardless of your badge tier, including "Uncertified" while checks are still running.

What does verification NOT cover?

It does not include a criminal background check on any individual, a guarantee of workmanship or project outcome, ongoing live monitoring, or vetting of employees or subcontracted labor. It's a business-registry check, not a personal background check.

What is the Letter of Bondability, and do I need one?

It's an optional document from a bonding/surety company confirming your bonding capacity. Uploading one is entirely optional — check the box in the Documents step of your application if you have one on hand; skipping it never affects your ability to submit or your account access.

Is the subscription fee refundable?

No — the monthly fee is non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of any verification check. Verification doesn't gate your access, so a lower or absent badge never affects your account standing or eligibility for a refund.

Search only shows accounts with an active subscription — verification tier has no effect on whether a business appears. If a business you expect to see is missing, their subscription is most likely inactive.
